What is Censorship 2.0?
Censorship 2.0 describes how authoritarian regimes have expanded their systems of censorship and repression.
Traditional methods such as bans, imprisonment and direct state control remain. They are now combined with indirect pressure, surveillance, harassment, digital manipulation and other techniques used both within national borders and against critics abroad.
How censorship happens in Norway
Censorship 2.0 gathers first-hand accounts from people living in Norway who have lived under, or remain affected by, authoritarian regimes around the world.
Through interviews, stories and research, we examine how regimes extend censorship beyond their own borders—and how surveillance, intimidation, family pressure, smear campaigns and other forms of control can affect expression and participation in Norway.
